Shane W. Kraus

Shane W. Kraus is a Nevada-licensed clinical psychologist and expert in substance use, gambling disorder, and compulsive sexual behavior disorder. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2013 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in addiction psychology at the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, in 2015. Dr. Kraus is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he directs the Behavioral Addictions Lab. He has published more than 250 scholarly works examining substance use and gambling disorders, psychopathology, compulsive sexual behavior, and problematic pornography use. In addition to his research, Dr. Kraus provides clinical supervision to psychology trainees and teaches graduate-level coursework on the psychology of addiction. A central passion of his work is translating addiction science and clinical practice into practical strategies that can help Christians struggling with addictive behaviors integrate evidence-based approaches with their faith and daily lives.
