Information about prayer

1. Relationship

Our Father in heaven. Remember that having believed in Jesus and His gospel you now approach God as His child. You don’t come on the basis of your work but on the basis of His work for you.

2. Reverence

Hallowed be your name. While we can be genuine and sincerely open with God without pretense, we remember simultaneously that we are addressing the Holy God who is the Maker of the universe and also our Maker. Therefore, we honor Him and remember that His very name is holy and to be hallowed. In a Christian culture that has gone overboard in an effort to make God relevant and relatable, we need to consider the words of the seraphim that fly around His throne day and night declaring, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD of Hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3).

3. Submission

Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. As Kingdom Citizens we are no longer pursuing our kingdom but His kingdom. Our chief desire is to see God’s will come to pass on earth in our generation. We have aligned ourselves with what matters to Him and have consequently submitted and surrendered completely to Him.

4. Dependence

Give us this day our daily bread. Humble dependence upon God was the pattern that Jesus laid down for us to follow. The truth is that as much as we would like to think we are in control, that is simply an illusion. GOD IS IN CONTROL. As we acknowledge this we learn daily, humble dependence upon Him to supply our needs and avoid the tendency to live independently from Him. You may be a mover and a shaker, you may have great position and influence, but the truth is you cannot even breathe without Him.

5. Confession

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Confession of your sins is where your relationship with God began but it is a continuous part of your relationship with Him. Daily confession cleanses you, reminds you of the importance of walking in righteousness, and helps you to remember how grave the issue of sin is to God. Your sin is what sent Christ to the cross.

6. Deliverance

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Paul said that our weapons of warfare are not fleshly in nature but mighty in God (2 Corinthians 10:4). God is your deliverer. He delivers you to victory over your adversary but that battle is not won in your power. It is won in His power. It is not a physical fight. It is a spiritual fight against wicked principalities and powers. And Christ alone has the power to make you more than a conqueror (Ephesians 6:10-20, Zechariah 4:6, Romans 8:37).

7. Worship

For Yours is the kingdom, power, glory forever AMEN. Worship is often consigned to corporate gatherings, but the adoration of God and the exaltation and affirmation of His beauty and magnificence is daily and forever. It is so important to get our eyes off of ourselves and our struggles and onto the Incomparable One. Your greatest need is to worship and you have been created to worship the Triune God.

8. Integrity

If you do not forgive others neither will your Father in heaven forgive you. God’s expectation is that as you come to Him asking for forgiveness, grace, and mercy, you are also freely giving those to the people who are asking you for them! Jesus was adamant about His disdain for hypocrisy and double standards in the lives of His disciples.

Thank you so much for even reading this.. I’m struggling with bitterness, resentment, and anger towards my mother who has been using me and manipulating me for money, comfort, and her pleasures by choosing to live in sin to then have me pick up the broken pieces financially, emotionally, and physically when it doesn’t work out. Due to this, I have moved several times for her, moved her in with me several times paying for everything ever since I turned 17 and began making money. Over and over again, I try to understand and create justifications for her while I plead with her to stop sin, but as my mother, she puts me down for standing up to her. It seems as though she feels remorseful and cries in regret, but it’s all but a fleeting emotion because she later scolds me for disrespecting her whenever I try to call her out on sin and repeats… I finally opened my eyes to see the pattern and manipulation. The worst part is now my husband and I are stuck in a financial obligation because of my mother… we bought a house we could barely afford to accommodate her and need her help financially but now she is choosing to leave only after 5 months of this home purchase to live with a man she knew over 10 years ago and reconnected over the phone for only 2 weeks promising her whole life with him because he has a garden, am retired, and promised her to take her on vacations with him. Trying to talk to her using scripture is not working. She used to be such a God fearing woman which is why seeing her like this is tearing down my heart. She knows all the verses and just keeps telling me that I am her mother and knows what she’s doing. I’m so worried about her but even talking to her and praying with her until it’s 3 am isn’t working. I love her dearly so I’m constantly struggling between trying to stick up for myself and setting boundaries to refuse her controlling my life and all of my financial decisions to accommodate whatever she wants, and feeling guilt ridden because she is my mother, and growing up we were very poor so she gave up everything for me; I am eternally grateful for her sacrifices and her telling me the gospel amongst so many other thing she has done for me and my brother. Ultimately, I’m feeling extremely stuck, torn, and now spiraling; all I’ve been able to do is cry and I’m desperately trying to ask God to search my heart and help me to see all of this through His eyes. I’m asking Him to please forgive her and to please help her be obedient to the Holy Spirit and live fearing and serving Jesus Christ. Please pray for my mother, my relationship with her, my ability to forgive and have wisdom in this situation, and for my husband and I. I have no idea how we are going to keep this house… our loan is to the max because we got a house that matched all of her requests/requirements and it was at our very max budget and we need her help to make payments because she agreed to help to get the house that got her the big kitchen, storage space, etc, key features she wanted. I work 12-16 hours a day for 6 days a week to keep up with work and to make enough for the mortgage but still isn’t quite enough without her. Im beginning to struggle with depression and insomnia. I constantly feel overwhelmed and on the brink of crying at any moment. I barely get time with my husband because I’m always working to the point that it feels like we are roommates which utterly breaks my heart; we are working on it together but need His help. Thank you so much for even reading and for any prayers, thank you so so much! God bless you!!!
