Who is Jesus?
It may surprise you to learn that Jesus asked this same question to His disciples. He said to them, “Who do people say that I am?” You see, people had all sorts of ideas about who Jesus was. Some held that He was a rabbi, others that He was a prophet and still others that He was John the Baptist resurrected. But Jesus wanted to make sure that His disciples knew the truth about Him. So, He asked them further, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter, speaking on behalf of the disciples said, “You are the Christ the Son of the living God.” Jesus affirmed that Peter was right even indicating that Peter’s understanding had come by the revelation of God. (Matthew 16:13-17)

There are two key truths that Jesus affirms about Himself:

First, that He is the Christ, or Messiah in Hebrew. That is, He is the Chosen One of God sent to rescue us from our sins.

Second, that He is the Son of God. In other words, He is the eternal God, who as John says, came in human flesh.

Who do you say that Jesus is? Have you believed what He has said about Himself?

How can you know Him?
Jesus couldn’t have been clearer when He said that eternal life was to know the only true God and His Son whom He sent. In other words, eternal life isn’t just living forever, it’s living forever in relationship with the Father and the Son. This doesn’t come, as many would suggest, through moral and religious efforts. It comes through faith in the gospel. The gospel is the good news that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and was raised from the dead. When you believe in Jesus your sins are forgiven, you are born again spiritually and brought into relationship with Him. To know Jesus doesn’t only mean to know information about Him, it means to experience Him forever!

Word of God
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God. His word is fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts and is the infallible rule if faith and practice.
Baptism
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church; baptism and communion. We believe in baptism by immersion and communion, which is open to all believers.
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God. God is eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, which are equal in power and glory. He is the triune God that created all, upholds all and governs all.
